Actively Pursuing Criminals

  • The police must actively work to pursue criminals, no matter what the commited crime be. This must include what are often erroneously described as "minor crimes" as they cause great distress to people and it is a well established fact that those involved in burglary go on to commit even worse crimes
  • This must include setting quotas for solving cases of house burglary and car theft
  • Sting operations should be set up in high risk areas.
Comment
• Police funding is limited, as well as the amount of police employed. Their focus must be on preventing the 'worst' crimes.
• Naturally, this allows criminals to progress from lesser to worse crime over the course of time. Given that, realistically, it is impossible to expect the police to have enough funding to investigate all crime, there should be provision to allow the public at large to fund their own private police sanctioned investigators (See the section on Private Security Forces for further discussion and possible approaches to the policing framework).
