Registration And Membership Requirements For New Zealand Police
1. The membership requirements for intending and existing members of the New Zealand Police are:
(a) Four years approved tertiary study at an approved University or Technical Institute
(b) One years general practical experience with or without supervision by a mentor
(c) Two years specified practical experience with supervision by a mentor
(d) A pass in the Professional Competence Examination I (PCEI)
(e) Attendance at an approved College covering core technical competencies (e.g. law!)
(f) A pass in the Professional Competence Examinations II (PCEII).
2. Ongoing membership of the College of New Zealand Police requires the satisfactory completion of approved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) on an annual basis of a minimum number of hours per year
3. The specific criteria and the minimum number of hours of CPD which are required to be completed each year shall be set by the Police Admissions Board from time to time, after consultation with the College of New Zealand Police Membership Committee
