- Victims must be attended to promptly
- All efforts must be made to ensure victims get closure. This includes capturing villains and seeing them charged.
- Victims must be informed of progress in their case unless disclosure could harm the case being made against the villain.
- Police must give what advise and to a degree help they can give to give the victim some sense of immediate security

Victims' Rights Act 2002 covers these issues - except perhaps points 2 and 4? The 2002 Act doesn't have a principle that victims need to see good efforts being made to capture offenders as part of closure, though.
